the sound
a blood curdling scream
bloomed a rickety spine with ice ___
full stopped the fox,
though he knows for certain now
he’s next

Brilliant tribute to nature’s savage side.

I want all my poetry to feel like you’re driving a car at night, but sometimes there’s a stag in your lane. You don’t know where, and sometimes you miss it entirely, but sometimes you don’t know you’ve hit it until you’ve already totaled the car. ๐ if I removed the final line, I feel like I would have missed the stag. -shrug- ๐
